PUBLIC COMMENT

During Special meetings, the public is invited to address the governing body on any matters posted on the agenda.  If you wish to address the governing body, you may do so during the PUBLIC COMMENT period noted on the agenda.  Each person is allowed three (3) minutes speaking time.

 

Pursuant to provisions of the Brown Act, no action may be taken on a matter unless it is listed on the agenda, or unless certain emergency or special circumstances exist.  The Governing body may direct staff to investigate and/or schedule certain matters for consideration at a future meeting.

of a special meeting

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE City Council OF THE City of glendora and to the CITY CLErk:

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council will conduct a Special Meeting at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, in City Hall Council Chamber, 116 E. Foothill Boulevard, Glendora, CA. 

 

The purpose of said special meeting is as follows:

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

1.

Consider of Resolutions Necessary for the Calling of a Special Election on a Proposed 0.75% City-specific Transaction and Use Tax to be Submitted to City Voters on March 5, 2019, Requesting County Election Services for the Election, Setting Priorities for Filing Written Arguments For and Against the Measure and Directing the City Attorney to Prepare an Impartial Analysis of the Measure, and Providing for the Filing of Rebuttal Arguments on the Measure.

 

CITY RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the following: 1) Resolution entitled, “A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Glendora, California, Calling and Giving Notice of the Holding of a Special Municipal Election to be Held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, and Ordering the Submission to the Voters a Measure to Adopt a Transactions and Use Tax;” 2) Resolution entitled, “A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Glendora, California, of the City Council of the City of Glendora, California, Requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles to Direct the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk to Administer, Manage and Oversee the City of Glendora’s Special Municipal Election to be Held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019; and Request for Consolidation of the General Municipal Election with any Countywide Election Held on March 5, 2019;” 3) Resolution entitled, “A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Glendora, California, Setting Priorities for Filing of Written Arguments and  Directing the City Attorney to Prepare an Impartial Analysis Regarding a City Measure to be Submitted at the Special Municipal Election Held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019;” 4) Resolution entitled, “A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Glendora, California, Providing for the Filing of Rebuttal Arguments for a City Measure Submitted at a Special Municipal Election on March 5, 2019:” and 5) Authorize the Finance Director to make the necessary budget adjustments for the estimated election costs of $400,000 and $40,000 for other costs.

 

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the public will be given the opportunity to speak only on those matters listed in this notice.

NO OTHER BUSINESS WILL BE DISCUSSED
